NEW HOPE CHURCH UPDATE VIDEO 07/01
Sharing God's love as we are the church @ home
You can watch the video or read the text below with links.
Opening News: Here's the latest. We are planning a special worship gathering at the church on Sunday, July 12 for those who can attend. Mark your calendars. We'll send out a video next week helping you know what to expect.
Homegoing: It's with mixed emotions we say good bye to Jose (Joe) Alarcon's mom, who went to be with Jesus this week. Please be in payer for the family.
Podcasting. In 1 Corinthians 9:19-24, Paul essentials tells the Corinthian church that he is willing to adapt his witnessing and life-practices to the culture his is trying to reach in order to see people saved. To the Jews, he adopts Jewish practices. To the Gentiles, he adopts Gentile practices. To the weak he becomes weak, etc. All in an effort to see people come to Jesus. Likewise, New Hope has adopted the online podcast format for our teaching videos, since this is the most common/popular style in the online social media context. Help us by sharing what we produce with as many people as possible.
Thriving Spiritually. Keep up on the weekend videos, keep reading and journaling, keep practicing your spiritual disciplines, Keep discipling,
Keep calling, visiting, caring for one another.
Until we can gather together in person, I look forward to seeing you online.
New Hope Church weekly happenings, news, and encouragement as we serve our city and Shelter in Place
New Hope people desire to participate in God’s mission of restoring people to relationship with Him, to foster spiritual growth in one another, and to embody Jesus to help establish God’s kingdom on earth, in all the ways and places we live our lives.
People who value, seek, build, & promote healthy relationships with God, self, others, & the world.
People who live and speak their faith through relationships so that others may believe in Jesus and embark on a journey of Christ-centered faith.
People on their spiritual journey helping one another become more like Jesus for the sake of others.
People who regularly encounter God the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit, & live so that others may encounter this Triune God through us.
Having a rhythm of personal time with Jesus to strengthen our relationship and deepen our intimacy with him.
Growing spiritually with others in a way that fosters transformation towards Christ-like maturity.
Living every day as people commissioned to see the gospel of Jesus bring life to those around us & to those we have relationship with.
There are no perfect people. We recognize that even though all people are broken and sinful, all people are created with sacred value, divine worth. The Gospel is inclusive…all are loved, and we accept all people and desire to see them transformed into disciples of Jesus where he is the center of their life.
Through God’s grace and love we are made family, empowered to live in honest, humble relationship with one another. We are, and are a part of, the church, people of the Triune God, united around his work, growing in genuine intimacy with him and one another.
We desire to be honest and humble about who we are, what we do, and what motivates us. We live life together transparently in an effort to help one another be the people God intends and live life in the Spirit of God.
Adhering to God’s Truth while practicing unconditional love. Giving one another space to fail, but helping others to live for and like Jesus.
The desire to see all people reconciled to a genuine, loving, eternal relationship with the Triune God. To have and share God’s promise and love for today and eternity.
Faith maturing and bearing spiritual fruit that positively impacts the individual and community. Everyone is advancing forward in their spiritual journey, deepening in their relationship with Christ, and becoming more adept at following the Spirit of God.
Entering into our world as Jesus in every aspect of life by creatively practicing and proclaiming the gospel: loving, serving, wooing, and suffering for the city–embodying Jesus in our communities.
Knowing that the ministry of Jesus must be done in the character of Jesus, we want to be whole and undivided people in our love and obedience to Christ, where our words and actions match our beliefs.
Listening to the voice of the Spirit and following the leading of the Spirit, both individually and as a community.
Dedicated to our mission, core identity, core practices, and core values. Never giving up or giving in. Faithful to God and to one another: always protecting, always trusting, always hoping, and always enduring.
“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer."
"Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
